Sustainabilitism: A new ism that needs to be in practice for a sustainable world

Sibu C Padmanabhan, AMBER/CRANN, Trinity College Dublin & SocLineTech Solutions and Services Limited

The philosophical ‘isms’ define political, economic and other ideologies.

We know that there are a lot of ‘isms’ defining various ideologies.

However, there needs to be one ‘ism’ that is critical for the sustainable existence of the mankind going forward. The one ‘ism’ that needs to be in practice is ‘sustainabilitism’.

The current state of the world demands all countries, citizens, enterprises and all to embrace and follow  ‘sustainabilitism’.

Sustainabilitism can then encompass all the good ‘isms’, as ultimately, sustainabilitism is to allow the world (its living beings) to live peacefully in a good and safe environment and with a healthy and good quality-of-life. All the sustainability initiatives for implementing environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, political sustainability, product and process sustainability, etc. must be (then) considered and followed under the umbrella of sustainabilitism for the earth to be a better place to live and leave for the future generations to come.

So, let’s embrace sustainabilitism.

P.S. from the author: I believe that I am coining the word ‘sustainabilitism’ through this short article and my LinkedIn post published on the 1st of January 2024.
